The River Church, Midland GA

GEM Studio was hired to design a new church under a Design Build contract in southern Georgia. The building was constructed as a pre-engineered metal building. Our team utilized conventional steel construction and custom metal panel variations to make the exterior of the building unique and not have the aesthetic of a industrial pre-engineered metal building. The interior space included large restrooms with a mechanical mezzanine above to support the mechanical equipment. The interior walls were furred out with metal framing and painted gyp. board and the ceiling was painted black to conceal the metal building structure. Utilizing a pre-engineered metal building helped reduce the cost of the project, reduce construction time, while still maintaining the Owner’s program.
